On this Behind the Pines post we’re featuring, me! My name is Terrin Coleman and I’m the store manager here at Golden & Pine. I do most of the merchandising here at the shop, as well at the blog, social media and window displays. I started at G&P just before we opened last March as a sales associate and I’ve just loved every minute of my job since then! I’m 23, and I currently live in Lee’s Summit with my boyfriend, Billy and our dog, Jeter. Most of you know me by stopping in the shop, but I took our little questionnaire to tell you all a little bit more about me and how I got to where I am now at G&P!
What is your position at Golden & Pine?
Describe your style in three words…
Scandinavian, vintage, cozy
How do you spend your time away from work?
I love being at home with Billy and our dog, Jeter (I’m a homebody and proud of it!) Other than that, I like finding new coffee shops, shopping, concerts, and being out with friends.
Titos and soda with a lemon!
The Great Gatsby
Favorite piece in your home?
My grandma’s sofa from the 60’s. It’s yellow, orange, green, floral, funky and it’s awesome.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Visit every national park
Favorite place to vacation?
The Pacific Northwest, I love the mountains and the beaches up there. I’ve never been to Europe, but I’m pretty sure if I had that would take the cake.
How did you start at G&P?
I saw an Instagram post before the store opened, and just decided to see what it was all about. I started as a super part time sales associate and now I’m the store manager, merchandiser, blogger, display maker and I love it. Basically everything I’ve ever wanted to do rolled into one job!
What would you be doing if your weren’t in your current career?
I’d love to travel the world for a living, but realistically, I’d hopefully be doing something similar to what I’m doing now, interior styling, painting, making, pretty much anything creative.
What part of your job do you find most surprising?
How much I really love styling. I’ve never really thought about it before this job. I mean I’ve always loved decorating my room or my home, but now i have a whole store with beautiful pieces and every time I move things it’s like starting with a blank canvas and creating a new and refreshed space.
What is one thing in your career that you’ve never regretted?
Jumping into new things. I love taking on anything that comes my way, I feel like I’ve learned a lot just by saying yes to new experiences and I’m happy with where those experiences have taken me.
The best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t worry. I’ll admit, I’m a pretty big worry wart every now and then. But things work out, one way or another, you get through it and everything will be fine in the end.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
Anywhere with Billy & Jeter, they’re my favs.
Welp, that’s me in a nutshell! Come see me here at the shop!
