On this Ethical Edit post, we’re featuring local stylist, Caitlin Fore! Caitlin, lives here in Kansas City and runs a wardrobe styling business, C4 Styling, and writes her own fashion blog, Sophisticated, which focuses on attainable style. We had Caitlin come in the shop (and she brought her adorable little baby boy) to pick out a few of her ethically made favorites. She picked pieces that she’d love in her home, which she believes should show off our personal style too. (We totally agree!) Read on and see Caitlin’s beautifully curated picks!
Caitlin’s first pick is our leather pouf from Minda Home. Minda cultivates artisan teams in remote areas of developing countries. Their team is made up of good people, with hearts as big as their smiles and an immense passion for their craft. We love the versatility of a nice leather pouf. It also comes in a rectangular shape that makes the perfect coffee table.
Right under the pouf, Caitlin picked this Shades of Gray yarn wrapped horseshoe from Marley & Alfie. This Los Angeles artist makes these beautiful colorful wrapped horseshoes that make the perfect good luck gift for anyone.
To the right, she picked the Vintage Remix book. This cute coffee table book from designer Kishani Perera shows you how to mix modern and vintage pieces in your home.
Her next pick is one of our vintage mud cloth lumbar pillows. These long lovelies make a great statement on any sofa or bed. Definitely a store favorite!
Next to the lumbar, Caitlin’s next pick is this mango wood tray from Nkuku. They are a UK company that sources from tons of artisans over seas that hand make everything from baskets to Christmas ornaments. This particular tray was made by a wood polisher from Rajasthan named Sunil.
Moving up, her next pick is another store fav, our matte gold flatware. I mean, this is just what dreams are made of right? We also carry a matte black and a matte stainless option.
To the left, Caitlin picked one of our marble and acacia wood spoon rests from BeHome. These make the perfect gift for practically any occasion, especially for those who love to spend time in the kitchen. One of these beauties and a great cookbook and you’re done!
Right above that, Caitlin picked our Grapefruit & Guava candle from local candle maker, Shine Candle Co. The maker, Hannah, lives in Olathe where she balances raising her kids and running her amazing company. With scents like Grapefruit & Guava, Fig & Rosemary and Palmarosa & Peach, you can’t go wrong with these.
And lastly, Caitlin picked this leaf planter made by Flat Earth Designs. This company is based out of Atlanta where they hand make all of their own molds for each of their products. All of these pots and planters are made of solid concrete! Great for any indoor or outdoor space.
We loved having Caitlin come by the shop! Stop by and pick out some some of your own favorites!
